NCWR, Inc. is a not for profit off road motorcycle club founded in 1991. Membership averages between 40 and 50 participated with gusts up to 60 when there is free pizza and a good ride. We have a pretty good mix of enduro, cross-country, and dual sport riders, with the majority being trail riders. We have guys and gals from 5-75 years young.

We are both AMA and District 36 chartered. We encourage everyone to be.

We try and get in at least one club ride a month, as Mother Nature permits. We have a club picnic in the summer and a Christmas party in December. We also, each year put on a DualSport event. If the club desires, we host the infamous Night Owl Enduro/Trail ride, originally a D36 fundraiser. We also try to maintain some private stock riding areas in Nevada County, known only to a few blind dirt riders that travel through the trees at night.

Please contact us for more information if you are interested in NCWR.

August 10, 2007 The OHV community met with Congressman Doolittle

by Kyra Racergirl76@yahoo.com

I represented the club presenting our issues regarding OHV growth, reduction of trails, economic harm to communities, and marginalization of the OHV community by the Forest Service. This update is belated, but this meeting did have an effect, the legislators are listening! Combined with the efforts of the Blue Ribbon Coalition and thousands of people who are writing to the El Dorado Forest the comment period was extended. Although this doesn't put trails on the ground, it shows that the uproar of angry OHVers is being noticed.

After speaking with Congressman Doolittle after the meeting on August 10th in Truckee, here is what the Congressman plans to do (or has done)

  1. A letter to Deputy Director Mark Rey, Under Secretary for Natural Resources. The letter will be signed by Doolittle, Herger and Lungren. The letter will state that the El Dorado National Forest report is substantially flawed and ask for an additional 60 day public comment period starting September 10.

  2. Congressman Doolittle will hold a meeting with Rey during the first week in September to discuss the issues such as Route Designation discussed during our meeting.
