Club DS Ride Feb. 15, 2006

We met at gate 5 of the Fairgrounds and headed down toward the Hwy 20 bridge. (448kb) The road was washed out providing a very challenging little rocky embankment to climb. (530kb) Even Derek was challanged. (552kb) Yes there was snow on the way even though we were going down not up. (472kb)
This creek crossing turned out to be quite deep. (524kb) Dick working his way across. (468kb) Dick, Dennis, & Derek at the river below the bridge. These are tailing piles left by the dredges that mined the river. They are VERY tall. (407kb) More views of the tailings. All from the bottom of the river below. (395kb)
These guys had a They started up top where the bikes are. It just sipped over the edge and down it went. As you can see you can bearly stand up on the steep slope (345kb) They had to swim out and drag the quad back to shore. Remember the snow? That had to be a cold swim. (377kb) Dick supervising the rescue (408kb)
We lent them a line so they could drag it around the point to where they could get it out. (443kb) Working it around. (362kb) That has to be cold. (391kb) Upside down. (406kb)
Draging it around. (413kb) Brrrrrr!!!! (400kb)
